GREENSBORO, N.C. — A 27-year-old man is facing multiple criminal charges after a Halloween night brawl at Four Seasons Town Centre allegedly turned violent when a police officer attempted to intervene.

According to an arrest warrant obtained by WBTV, Agustin Medina Mariche was involved in a fight involving five people at the Greensboro shopping mall on Saturday, October 31.

Officer Allegedly Attacked During Fight

Court documents allege Mariche punched an officer, grabbed the officer’s protective vest and pulled him to the ground.

The officer reportedly suffered a cut to his hand during the confrontation.

Investigators also allege Mariche ran from officers and dropped a handgun underneath a vehicle while attempting to escape.

Police eventually located and arrested him.

Seven Criminal Charges Filed

Mariche faces the following charges:

  • Assault causing physical injury to a law enforcement officer
  • Resisting a public officer
  • Disorderly conduct
  • Going armed to the terror of the people
  • Carrying a concealed handgun
  • Littering
  • Possession of a firearm by a felon

Court records also indicate Mariche was on probation for a previous firearm-related conviction when the incident occurred.

During a November 2 court appearance, he was denied bond and appointed a public defender.

His next court appearance is scheduled for January 2027.

Questions Remain About the Mall Fight

Authorities have not publicly explained what started the five-person confrontation or whether additional participants will face charges.

The incident raises questions about security and public safety at one of Greensboro’s major shopping centers.

Mariche is presumed innocent of the new charges unless proven guilty in court.
